ABOUT THE DESIGNER: Ricardo Marçal
Ricardo was born in 1979 in Hamburg, Germany, but it was in Viana do Castelo, in the north of Portugal, that he first pursuit his engineering and product design studies.
Ambitious and focused on his goals as a professional, he soon started to collaborate with brands such as Jasmin Glass Studio and JadeTree. Eager for knowledge about all that surrounds the field of design, Ricardo also obtained a master degree in industrial design at the University of Porto.
His work is defined by an acute eye for geometry and formal detail, a healthy obsession Ricardo has been developing throughout the years. These attributes are expressed in Ricardo's designs for TemaHome, such as the modular bookcase/space divider Ivy, the rotating bookcase Shell or the London bookshelf.
Attention to the design of each product, results in timeless pieces that can fit into an endless variety of contexts.
TemaHome has over thirty years of experience in the furniture and lifestyle industry, having points-of-sale spread throughout thirty different countries around the world.

TemaHome are based one hour north of Lisbon, Portugal. The company's production factory and offices coexist in the same building, providing a close contact between all the different departments. The factory manufactures all the main components necessary to produce the wood products, allowing them to have absolute control over the quality of the final merchandise. Technology and innovation are in constant development at TemaHome thanks to the perfect sync between the production and design departments.
